Chevrolet / Geo Metro Headlights: Find Your Replacement / Geo Metro Headlight Assembly

When talking about Chevy models, you are often thinking about best-selling sedans like Chevrolet Metro. This model is among the best creations of Chevrolet in 1980s.

Initially known as the Geo Metro in 1989, Metro was shifted to the Chevrolet nameplate after the Geo brand was ceased. Nonetheless, in spite of the confusing alterations of names, consumers still focused and get attracted by the sophisticated yet simple appeal of the Metro, in fact, majority of buyers were women. This was not just because of the looks but also the ideal specs of the engine. For the record, Chevy Metro is among the highest-rated with regards to the EPA's fuel economy tests. It is built in Canada as a joint project between General Motors and Suzuki, having it also sold as the Suzuki Swift. Since its introduction to the consumers, Chevrolet Metro remains outstanding with its body style, optional engine, and environmental-friendly exhaust. Redesigned for 1995, Metro’s body was reengineered as the interior was featured with the standard dual airbags. In 1996, the entry-level model could get the larger Metro engine but then only detail revisions were marked. In 1997, the 4-cylinder engine was standardized with the LSi hatchback and 4-door, nonetheless, the base 4-door model was dropped and a new option package for the LSi sedan has added a split-folding rear seat. In 1998, Metro got a more-powerful 4-cylinder engine. In 1999, there were no major changes that were seen. The Metro 2000 do not have significant changes except on the remote cargo-lid release featured in the up-level LSi model.

Chevrolet Metro was just sold in rental outlets for 2001. If you would try to surf the net, you will realize that a lot of used Metro vehicles are sold. Even wonder what the sellers are giving up for thousands of bucks? Looking closer at the specs, we will see that the performance of the Metro often relies on the 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine and a 70-horsepower 1.3-liter 4-cylinder, which was optional in the LSi hatchback and standard in the sedan. The 5-speed manual gearbox was standard with both engines wherein 3-speed automatic is just optional with the 4 cylinder. There are also the anti-lock brakes, but these are made optional on all Metros. Metro is among the sedans that takes advantage of the light weight. This means that there is higher economy on gas and less hazard on the suspension and steering. On the plus side, the Metro is designed quieter on the road than before. Cornering grip remains modest while providing suitable acceleration for both city and highway driving.

Overall, Chevrolet Metro is a simple yet sophisticated, quiet, and easy-to-drive sedan. So if you want an old yet functional sedan, this Chevy model is for you.
