The Suzuki X-90 was a vehicle made by Suzuki from 1996 to 1998. The Suzuki X-90 was based on the Suzuki Sidekick and was considered as a small SUV.
Related to the Suzuki Sidekick, the Suzuki X-90 is a hard vehicle to place. Although marketed as a small SUV, it did not really have that much to offer as an SUV. As a small off roader, it was not tough enough. The Suzuki X-90 was obviously targeted to the young car buyer segment with its sporty yet quirky looks. Cute would sum up the looks of the Suzuki X-90 very well, and not in a good way. Originally, the Suzuki X-90 was introduced as a concept car. It got a lot of positive reaction from the public and Suzuki gave the go ahead for the Suzuki X-90 to go into production. Unfortunately, the Suzuki X-90 production vehicle did not perform as good as it looked and sales were immediately dismal. Introduced in 1996, not even a drastic price tag drop could revive the dismal sales of the Suzuki X-90 and the car was dropped in 1998 after a mere two years of production. Notably, the Suzuki X-90 got a niche market as an advertising vehicle for the Red Bull energy drink.
The Suzuki X-90 was available as either with a four wheel drive or a rear wheel drive setup. The engine of the Suzuki X-90 was a 16 Valve 1.6 litre I4 engine. It was capable of producing 95 hp. 5 speed manual transmission and automatic transmission was available. Features of the Suzuki X-90 included dual airbags, anti-lock brakes and air conditioning. 6 disk CD changers were also available as dealer installed features. Performance of the Suzuki X-90 was pretty dismal. The small engine of the Suzuki X-90 had a hard time keeping up in highway speeds. The tall frame and relatively small and light body of the car also made it susceptible to crosswinds. The suspension of the Suzuki X-90 was too tight, giving the car a bouncy, oversensitive ride. While the Suzuki X-90 was offered with a 4WD option, it can't handle even light off roading. Steering seemed to be one of the better features of the car though drivers better slow down when doing tight curves as the high profile of the car gives a lot of body lean.
The Suzuki X-90 has little to offer as a car. This small SUV is available in very low prices and the design is unique. However, as a daily driver or even as a every now and then driver, the Suzuki X-90 has very little to offer. Headlights by State: ______________________
