Just the impression of the name viper delivers an inexplicable excitement and hype. With its powerful V10 engine, Dodge Viper has become a knockout sports car. The people who conceptualized the design and performance features of the Dodge Viper were actually called the Team Viper. Having over 85 engineers to have worked on every aspect of its design, the model was completed as a modern depiction of the characteristics of a viper or cobra in sports car. Later after its completion, it successfully made an impact to the 1989 North American International Auto Show.
At first, the Team Viper used the V8 engine in the test mule and was used in the production lines of the Dodge Viper. Since the centerpiece of this model is its engine, the team eventually decided on a V10 engine, recasting the block and head in aluminum alloy. The change resulted to Viper’s 711-lb engine, 400 horsepower (298 kW) and 465 ft-lb torque levels. To improve the overall profile of the Viper’s body, it was eventually assembled with a combination of tubular steel frame with resin and fiberglass panel. Later on, modern car amenities such as automated door locks and security, power windows and modern wipers were incorporated. The next generations of Dodge Vipers were much more refined in terms of riding comfort, interior design, aerodynamic profile and in overall functional design aspects.
