The Acura Vigor was a mid-sized sedan released by Acura in the United States from 1992 to 1994. The Acura Vigor was slated to fill the gap between the Acura Legend and the Acura Integra. The car was released in 1991, released as a 1992 model. Commercially, the Acura Vigor made very little impact in the North American car market and many buyers preferred the larger, more luxurious competitors of the Acura Vigor or the Acura Legend and the Acura Integra. It was subsequently pulled out of production and replaced with the Acura TL. The Acura Vigor was based on the Honda Vigor line which was a variation of the Honda Accord. The Honda Vigor was a popular car in the Japanese car market. The Japanese run of the Honda Vigor based on the Honda Accord was from 1981 to 1989. By the release of the third model of the Vigor, it no longer shared a chassis with the Honda Accord. This model became the first Acura Vigor model released in the United States. The Acura Vigor was released to fill the anticipated small, sports sedan market. Unfortunately, the Acura Vigor achieved little success and reviews of the car when it came out were less than favorable. Many of the car buyers of the time preferred other car models and brands which offered a roomier and more luxurious ride. Acura tried to answer the market and made several improvements to the Acura Vigor. These were ultimately ineffectual and the car was finally pulled out of production in 1994. The engine of the Acura Vigor was a 2,5 L longitudinally mounted 5-cylinder engine which was capable of 176hp. The car had very good handling and achieved points for being one of the most responsive and stable front wheel drive sedans in the market back then. The car was compared by many car enthusiasts to the four door version of the Acura Integra. The car went through several technical upgrades as Acura tried to respond to the market. The suspensions of the Acura Vigor were softened and the steering of the car was engineered to dampen the effects of road vibrations, isolating the driver for a smoother drive. Acura also increased the rear seat area of the Acura Vigor. The Acura Vigor is one of the less successful car models of Acura. The release of the Acura Vigor was not well received and, as a result, it is one of the car models in the Acura lineup to have been produced for a relatively short run. Although the Acura Vigor was a technically sound vehicle, it could not compare to its main competitors and were subsequently discontinued. Today, the Acura Vigor is no longer readily available in the car market. However, there are a few Acura Vigor enthusiasts who continue to be avid fans of the Acura Vigor. Since the Acura Vigor is relatively old and it did not make that much of an impact in the car market, the Acura Vigor has very little resale value. Headlights by State: ______________________
