Toyota Tundra Headlights: Find Your Replacement Tundra Headlight Assembly
The Toyota Tundra is the full size pickup truck entrant of Toyota in the United States car market. The truck was first produced in 1999 and was released as a 2000 truck model. It is still in production up to now and has been one of the best selling full size trucks in the market. The Toyota Tundra corrected the market failure that was the Toyota T100 which was also its predecessor. The Toyota Tundra finally got the full size pickup truck formula for Toyota. Unlike the T100, the Toyota Tundra featured what most observers considered to be a more 'Americanized' design and features. With the Toyota Tundra, Toyota finally placed a V8 engine under the hood of its full size pickup truck. The Toyota Tundra became a hit upon its release and was immediately nominated in 2000 for the North American Truck of the Year award. Since its release, the Toyota Tundra has gone through two generations of production. The Toyota Tundra has also become a favorite specialty car for American car enthusiasts. Special Edition Toyota Tundra trucks were introduced in 2008. Dubbed as the Ivan 'Ironman' Stewarty Signature Series, these Toyota Tundra trucks were offered in three packages. This was made in honor of Stewart's 17 Baja 500 wins using a number of Toyota vehicles. Currently, Toyota has revealed their plans for releasing a clean burning diesel engine for the next model year of the Toyota Tundra. There have also been rumors of a possible hybrid version of the Toyota Tundra. This is to be expected as full size pickup trucks, known for their high fuel consumption, are getting a hit in sales due to the astronomical increase in fuel prices. The Toyota Tundra was actually classified as a mid size pickup truck for its first generation which included all models from 2000 to 2006. This first generation Toyota Tundra models had 3.4 litre V6 engines with 190 hp, 4.0 litre V6 engines with 236 hp or 4.7 V8 engines with 245 hp. The transmissions used for them were a 5 speed manual, a 4 speed automatic, a 6 speed manual and a 5 speed automatic. The second generation of the Toyota Tundra are classified as full size pickup trucks. The engines available for these versions of the Toyota Tundra are a 4.0 litre V6 with 276 hp, a 4.7 litre V8 with 276 hp and a 5.7 litre V8 with 381 hp. Transmissions available are either a 5 speed automatic or a 6 speed automatic. The Toyota Tundra could also be fitted with a TRD Supercharger bolt on kit. This is available only for the 5.7 litre V8 version of the Toyota Tundra. The TRD Supercharger significantly increases the power output of the truck, boosting it to 504 hp. The Toyota Tundra is one of the top choices when it comes to full size pickup truck. Its mix of performance and features has made it one of the most successful trucks in the market today and there really is little reason to opt for another model. Related Bookmarks
