General Motors had been very successful in offering the transporting public the best mobility money can buy. One of its many marquees is the Chevrolet that in its own had released different types in different class entries in the industry. One of the most significant in the industry is the Chevrolet Tahoe that first made its entity in the auto scene in 1992. It was then named Yukon but later was available in 1995 made available in the name of Tahoe. It is also made available in Australia and New Zealand under the Holden Suburban marquee. In Brazil, it is released as Chevrolet Blazer. To date, both the Yukon and Tahoe models are still making great significance in the production and selling well.
From the 1992, Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon had come a long way of success and intervention. It is General Motor’s current full-size sports utility vehicle (SUV) entry in its class and doing well to date. In fact, in 1998, a model luxury will add to the Yukon lineup while Suburban for Tahoe is made available. These are lengthened wheelbase models that are better known in their technical names as Yukon XL and Suburban, respectively. Another in the Yukon lineup, Yukon XL Denali, was added in 2002 giving the driving public more choices in the full-size SUV class.
The entire Chevrolet Tahoe production is running three generations of production: GMT 400 originally known as Yukon in1992 until 1999, Blazer in 1992 to 1994, Tahoe in 1995 to 1999, and Silverado in 1995 to 1999 in Mexico; GMT 800 Chevrolet Police; GMT 900. All share the same front engine; rear- and four-wheel drive features although newer models have bettered features than the outdated ones. GMT 400 was available in 2- and 4-door GM GMC 400 platform that sports a 5.7 L V8 engine in 4L80E and 4L60E automatic and 5-speed manual transmission, while GMT 800 was strictly 4-door GM GMC platform sporting 4.8 L 275 hp and 5.3 L 285 hp V8 engines with 4-speed 4L60E automatic transmission. On the other hand, GMT 900 is more classy 4-door SUV with choices of 4.8L 295hp V8, 5.3L 320hp V8, or 6.2L 380hp V8 engines.
Apart from the many technical reasons to have a Chevrolet Tahoe, its spacious and professional looks will surely draw attention. As if not enough, a hybrid version will be out in the market in 2008 that features GM/Chrysler Advanced Hybrid System 2 that is expected to surpass the exceeding initial sales versus the expectation of the GMT 900 that will negate the weakening market of large SUV’s.
