Pontiac Solstice Headlights: Find Your Replacement Solstice Headlight Assembly
The Pontiac is a sports car made by General Motors under its Pontiac division. The car was well received by critics and, to date, it is one of the best selling car models made by Pontiac. The Pontiac Solstice was first revealed to the public during the North American International Auto Show of 2004. The car was an impressively designed sports car with a small body, an aggressive profile and a very innovative design. The styling of the exterior of the Pontiac Solstice is very reminiscent with the Solstice concept car introduced in 2002. This is especially true with the production version of the car. During its introduction, the car was one of the most talked about new car models from General Motors which generated high expectations for the production version of the car. The car started production in the middle of 2005 in the Wilmington, Delaware plant of Pontiac. The Pontiac Solstice was originally released as a 2006 model year of the car. The Pontiac Solstice became one of the biggest successes of Pontiac in recent years and, for the first ten days when the car was made available to the car buying public, seven thousand orders were placed for the car. Before winter of that year, another six thousand orders were made as well. General Motors had originally planed to produce seven thousand models during the first year of production for the car. Because of the high demand, General Motors apologized to its clients and increased the production of the car to meet its demand. The Pontiac Solstice has an impressive price tag, coming in at the lower 20,000 dollar range. However, car buyers have reported paying over 5,000 dollars more than the sticker price of the car. The Pontiac Solstice was a nominee for the Design of the Year award and the North America Car of the Year award of AJAC or Automobile Journalists Association of Canada for the 2006 year. The car is still in production up to the present and sales for the car remain strong. The Pontiac Solstice is classed as a Roadster and is sold as either a two door convertible or as a two door coupe. The car is built on the Kappa platform of General Motors and features a front engine rear wheel drive layout. As a side note, Pontiac is currently converting most of their car model line up to the front engine rear wheel drive layout to emphasize their performance oriented image. The engines available for the Pontiac Solstice include an Ecotec LE5 2.4 litre inline four engine and an Ecotec LNF 2.0 litre inline four engine. The transmissions used for the car are a 5L40-E five speed automatic transmission and an Aisin AR5 five speed manual transmission. A higher performance GXP version is also available for the Pontiac Solstice. This version of the car uses the Ecotec 2.0 litre inline four engine which is upgraded with a dual scroll turbocharger which significantly increases the power output of the vehicle. Stabilitrak traction control, anti lock brakes, limited slip differential and 18 inch wheels are also standard for the GXP. The Pontiac Solstice has one of the best value for money car models in the market today. So for car buyers who are inclined to sports cars and who have the cash, the Pontiac Solstice is a must buy.
