GMC Sierra 1500 Headlights: Find Your Replacement Sierra 1500 Headlight Assembly

Both the outside and inside part of the GMC Sierra full size pickup was redesigned including the higher gas mileage, greater maximum towing capacity and boasted roomier cabins to create the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500. Also the handling and interior noise levels of the GMC new design were improved. The Sierra before, shares a platform with the SUV Yukon XL full size. The varieties of the car are irresistible having a multiple suspension packages, trim levels, multiple power train combinations, standard and long cargo box lengths and an extended and crew cab body styles. The General Motors have exerted enough efforts to differentiate the Sierra car from its sister model Chevrolet Silverado, but despite of that, they succeed only to a point.

Basically, the GMC pickup is similar to the design of the Chevrolet trucks, only that they have slight differences on grill and taillight design. Since 1918, the Chevrolet had produced a pickup truck, but the use of C/K classification, as the truck’s name until 1962 has not begun. Pickups were still offered in fleetside or stepside body styles. Other related GMC trucks were called either fenderside or wideside. The front-end design of the 1960 and 1961 trucks was revised that has odd oval-shaped pods at the hood front, which contains the turn signals. An egg-crate-style grill debuted as well as the torsion bar set-up was replaced by a coil-spring front suspension. An optional 292-cubic-inch inline six with 165 ponies and a new base engine or a 230-cubic-inch inline six with 140 horsepower are the two new engines that have appeared. In 1964, the truck’s looks were freshened by a pillar and a new windshield design that has created a new grill with a finer crosshatch texture. While a new dashboard with a revised instrument cluster can be found inside the cab. In 1965, a 327 V8 and air conditioning were provided that make the pickups more comfortable and more powerful. While a bigger 250 inline six with 155 horsepower has become the new base engine in 1966. Starting from 1967 up to the current year, the General motors have continuously created new designs and models for pickups. An overall build quality and huge improvements with the cabin materials were the big highlights for the revision of designs for Sierra.

The redesigned exterior of Sierra is modernized and different. It does have a different hood and fender shapes but is not too different from the Silverado. Like the Silverado, its headlights are vertically stacked only that the designs for Sierras are more squat. The interior quality of the new generation Sierra has noticeably improved with lower shine and less sticky plastics. The SLE and WT trim levels have an interior design with different larger control and dashboards. A double compartment has improved the storage capacity and gives comfort to larger center storage. There are 4.3 liter V-6 and 4.8-, 5.3 and 6.0-liter engines under the hood that is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand the Denali had a 6.2-liter V-8 mated to six-speed automatic.

The redesigned Sierra will be safe to use for it has an antilock brakes that are standard on all models. It is standard for the crew cabs to use the stabilitrak electronic stability system. Sierra is also offering an OnStar plan that includes automatic OnStar notification for remote door unlocking, stolen vehicle tracking, and accidents.
