The Cadillac Seville is a mid sized luxury vehicle produced by Cadillac. The name Seville is synonymous with some of the most iconic American cars in history. During the 1950s to the 1960s, the Cadillac Seville was released as limited production vehicles under the Cadillac Eldorado line. The car only became a regular production vehicle in 1975 and was continually produced up to 2004. The Cadillac Seville is placed below the top of the Cadillac Eldorado in the line up of Cadillac car models.

The Cadillac Seville has a long, impressive history. The first ever Cadillac car to carry the Seville name was a hardtop version of the Cadillac Eldorado convertible released in 1956. The most distinguishing feature of this Cadillac Eldorado Seville is its talfins, an iconic car design affectation which is one of the most remembered car design cues. The Cadillac Eldorado Seville were built from 1957 up to 1960. During the 1970s, car imports were beginning to dominate the American car market and Cadillac responded by releasing the Cadillac Eldorado as the smallest and most expensive model of the Cadillac lineup of luxury car models. This was a peculiar reversal of the usual marketing strategy of Cadillac which usually took the stance of "bigger is better". Upon release, the Cadillac Seville was the most expensive Cadillac in the line up. It was lighter than the DeVille, it was nimble and it had every gadget that Cadillac could fit into it. Everyone was impressed with it and the car was a hit. The last release of the Cadillac Eldorado was in 2003.

The Cadillac Seville was one of the car models that was highly oriented towards technology. The Cadillac Seville was always one of the first Cadillac car models to have benefited from the many technological advancements that Cadillac introduced. Notably, the Cadillac Seville was the first car to feature a computer system which controlled the engine and the other systems of the car. This was called the BCM/ECM component of the Cadillac Seville which was introduced in 1986. The Cadillac Seville fifth generation car models were also the first Cadillac models that was specifically engineered to be left or right hand drive vehicles. Thus, the Cadillac Seville officially became available in right hand drive countries such as Japan, South Africa and the United Kingdom. The last model of the Cadillac Seville, the Cadillac Seville 2003 also featured the MagneRide adaptive suspension system.

There are many reasons why the Cadillac Seville is a great vehicle to own. For one, the Cadillac Seville is one of the most iconic American cars ever produced. The car is also a good performer and is very luxurious even by today's standards. Cadillac Seville models from the 1970s are also highly sought vehicles and command a respectable resale value.
