Chevrolet Astro and GMC Safari models were the same except for the series of designations and names. Once the fuel pump has failed, the vehicle will not start. Another occasional problems of this vehicle are the horn circuit contact and the failures of the cruise control servo.
The General motors have begun to close the production of GMC Safari as it faced falling sales in the market across its vehicle lines. Thus, on May 14, 2005, the production of Safari was completely closed.
