To fill the lack of a mid sized crossover SUV in its lineup of car models, Cadillac released the Cadillac SRX. The Cadillac SRX is a relatively new addition to the long time car maker Cadillac as denoted by its RSX model name. The Cadillac RSX was released in 2004 and is in continuous production with the second generation Cadillac RSX planned for release in 2010. The Cadillac SRX first came out to the market in 2004. It is based on the Sigma platform of GM and is a rear wheel drive vehicle in standard format. A four wheel option is available. The car is relatively new and has not yet achieved the checkered past of some of the more long running Cadillac models. The market reaction to the Cadillac SRX was largely positive although a few people find fault in the car. Some of the complaints regarding the Cadillac RSX is in its relatively low fuel efficiency, a great concern in these days of high gas prices and environmental concern. Others find the that the upholstery of the Cadillac SRX is a bit lacking given its high price. Under the hood, the Cadillac SRX can either be a High-Feature V6 engine with 260 hp or a Northstar 4.6 litre V8 with 320 hp. The transmission of the Cadillac SRX can either be a five speed or a six speed automatic transmission. At base configuration, the car is a rear wheel drive vehicle. However, customers can also opt for a four wheel drive configuration of the Cadillac SRX. The car also features an all leather interior with heated front seats, a basic feature for the V8 and an option for the V6. Safety wise curtain side airbags for the Cadillac SRX is standard for all models. In terms of performance, few have found any complaints with the Cadillac SRX. The car is smooth to handle and responsive enough to be about as nimble as a sedan. Its high clearance and bulkier body will make sure the driver knows he's driving a semi SUV at higher speeds, however. There is little to complain about the Cadillac SRX. If there is one problem with this crossover SUV, it is that it is an average performer. The car is a good all around performer and can hold its own against the competition. However, critics feel that Cadillac could have done better with the SRX. Hopefully, that will be coming with the 2010 version of the car. Headlights by State: ______________________
