The Infiniti QX56 is Infiniti's answer to the full size SUV market. The luxury brand of Nissan, Infiniti first released this full size SUV in 2004 and it has been in production up to the present. The Infiniti QX56 has proven itself to be one of the more successful models of Infiniti.
Built to compete in the full size SUV market dominated by such car brands as Ford and Mercedez-Benz, the Infiniti QX56 strives to provide the best mix of luxury and performance to succeed in this competitive market. The Infiniti QX56 is based on the Nissan Armada but is a more stylized and luxurious version of the SUV. Like most full size SUVs in its class, the Infiniti QX56 is big and powerful. The Infiniti QX56 features a spacious interior which includes third seating. However, third seating can be cramped for adults. The Infiniti QX56 is also powered by a V8 engine which gives the SUV plenty of horse power to play with. The QX56 is also a capable off roader and can easily handle the bumps and grinds of rough road driving. It also has plenty of luxurious features and the interior of the Infiniti QX56 really reflects that it is a luxury SUV. However, the Infiniti QX56 stops short of being among the top competitors of its class. While it has recently outsold its main Lexus competitor, the Infiniti QX56 is still a level below the top competitors of its class which is currently led by the Cadillac Escalade.
The Infiniti QX56 is an impressive SUV. The QX56 carries a VK56DE 5.6 litre V8 engine which cranks out 315 hp at 4,900 rpm. The torque force of the engine is at 390 lb-ft at an rpm of 3,600. Towing capacity for the Infiniti QX56 is rated at 9,000lb. Transmission available is a 5 speed automatic with overdrive. Other features of the Infiniti QX56 include four wheel and two wheel drive, ABS, antiskid system, traction control, front side and curtain side airbags, DVD entertainment system, navigation system using DVD, leather trims, ten speaker Bose sound system, dual climate control, adaptive cruise control and 18 inch chrome alloy rims. The Infiniti QX56 performs as much as what can be expected from a heavy, full size SUV. Acceleration is a about average in its class. Its suspension generally keeps the ride smooth though it inevitably jiggles when running on rough roads. Handling is heavy as can be expected for a vehicle in its class. It can take winding turns relatively well and is quite stable when straight course driving. Fuel efficiency is quite low but the figures are also average for its class.
Capable and luxurious, these words define quite well what an Infniti QX56 is. While the vehicle does not actually overshadow the class leaders, it is still a good choice for a luxury SUV. With the current high gas prices, the fuel efficiency rating of the QX56 is questionable but the same can be said for all vehicles in its class. At the very least, the QX56 offers a competitive price for the luxury and power that it offers.Headlights by State: ______________________
