The Infiniti Q45 was the flagship car model in the Infiniti lineup. The car had a relatively long run, starting production from the 1990 model and ending with the 2006 model. The Infiniti Q45 offered a lot of features but was never among the leaders of its class.
Since 1990, the Infiniti Q45 was designated as the class leader of the Infiniti line up of cars. Upon its release, many car enthusiasts were quite excited about the car. The car offered a powerful engine and several interesting features during its production life. Although the car usually received good review and were at times highly anticipated, sales of the car were not very impressive. The first generation of the Infiniti Q45 received positive reviews but a week advertisement campaign weakened the market perception of the car. The design of the car also proved to be it undoing. Many considered the car's design to be unfit for a luxury car model. The second generation Infiniti Q45 moved to a more luxurious design. However, the car was underpowered which again cost it market prominence. The third generation of the Infiniti Q45 was also another solid performer which received plenty of praise from some of the most popular car reviewers. However, the car still performed poorly in the market primarily due to poor advertising and to the low market perception of the Infiniti car brand. When the Infiniti M car models began to sell well, the Infiniti Q45 was removed from the American car market.
The last of the Infiniti Q45 models was based on the year 2002 redesign of the car. This model of the Q45 was aimed for luxury car buyers who wanted high performance cars. Thus, this Infiniti Q45 model carried a 4.5 litre V8 engine, the VK45DE. The engine produced 340 hp for the car. The transmission of the car was a 5 speed automatic which featured an overdrive. The styling of the Infiniti Q45 was also redesigned to be sharper and more aggressive. The headlights were changed to HID headlights designed to mimic a gattling gun. The Infiniti Q45 model received several upgrades up to its removal from the market. Among the last changes seen in the car included standard all leather interior, 8 way power front seats, rain detecting wipers, power sunroof, trip computer, stereo system with using eight Bose speakers and a navigation system with voice activation. Performance wise, the car was one of the most powerful and luxurious cars in its class.
As luxury cars go, the Infiniti Q45 ranks among the top. This, however only applies to the later models of the car. Earlier Infiniti Q45 models are less than stellar as luxury car models. The Infiniti Q45 is no longer available available from Infiniti car dealers, however. Second hand models are available but may be on the expensive side. For those who want a luxury car Infiniti model, a better choice would be the Infiniti M35.Headlights by State: ______________________
