There are some vehicles that are geared to offer styling and class to the vehicle owner, and there are some vehicles as well that managed to offer a dependable service to enterprising individuals. One example of the latter type of vehicle is the P25 of GMC. This is an old model from GMC; and though its history can be traced as far back as the late 1960s the P25 still maintains its significance up to this time. Thats made possible thanks to its timeless reliability and dependability. The P25s that were offered by GMC in different decades assumed many types of engines. One of the engines that were used on the 1978 version of the GMC P25 was the 5.7 liter V8 power producer. There was also a P25 that was offered in 1982 and this vehicle used the same engine, the 5.7 liter V8 device. The year 1989 still saw the popularity of this engine as this was still used on the P25s. Though crafted to offer and deliver great reliability and performance, the P25 still got some issues and problems that were manifested by the vehicle along the way. The year 1986 saw a recall of some units of the P25 off the market, and this happened September 19, 1986. The specific model that was affected by the recall was the 1986 GMC P25. The main issue on the vehicle was on the headlight switch. It was learned that the push-pull headlight switch of the vehicle may have the electrical contacts that can effectively allow for the intermittent headlight. This issue when left alone can cause the headlight to flicker or worse can suddenly die out. This kind of issue can effectively compromise the safety of everyone on the road. The sudden loss of illumination on the road under severe weather conditions can reduce the visibility of the driver and the pedestrian and this can result in many accidents on the road. The manufacturer of GMC P25 took the issue seriously and offered remedial steps in order to address the concern. As a remedial step, it was suggested that the headlight switch should be replaced. immediately. Around 106,111 units of the P25 were affected by the recall. Another recall of the P25 happened in 2006. The problem of the P25s that were recalled during this time was traced to the connector on the fuel filter that was not crafted and manufactured according to the specifications that was set by Honeywell. Due to the failure to comply with the standards of the manufacturer, the O-ring may not fit correctly on the fuel line. And if the issue is not addressed, this can cause inadequate seal in the connection and may increase the risk for oil leak. GMC and Honeywell responded to the issue in a quick manner and offered a replacement to affected buyers free of charge. Though there are problems that are often encountered by the P25, the automaker made sure that all issues should be addressed. This is the reason why the P25 continues to be noticed by those looking for a tough and a dependable step van. . Headlights by State: ______________________
