The two-door car designed by Sir Alec Issigonis has been manufactured at the Longbridge and Cowley plants in the United Kingdom, the Victoria Park / Zetland British Motor Corporation (Australia) factory in Sydney Australia, and later also in Spain (Authi), Belgium, Chile, Italy, Portugal, South Africa, Uruguay, Venezuela and Yugoslavia. Before having its own marquee in 1969, this car was sold under the names of Austin and Morris.

This led to the production of the Mini Cooper, which is an affordable and economical car. The Cooper S was a more powerful version with various changes in the original design. It had 1071 cc engine and larger servo-assisted disc brakes. It was sure hit when it was released making it sell almost immediately in 1964. With several renovations, this particular model lasted up to the year 2000. Another prominent model is Mini Clubman and 1275GT that has lasted from the years of 1969 to 1980. The newer versions were the MK III that had a modified body shell of its predecessor. The MK IV had a front rubber mounted subframe with single tower bolts and the rear frame when it was introduced in 1976. The MK V had almost eight and a half inch brake discs and plastic wheel arches. The MK VI, introduced in 1990, had several changes in the MK V design. Finally, the last model was the MK VII that had twin point injection with front mounted radiator.
The last Mini produced was in October 4, 2000. The more popular version of this car were the MK I, MK II, Mini Cooper and the Cooper S.
