The Mazda 3 is a compact car made by Japanese car company Mazda Motor Corporation. The Mazda 3 is known as the Mazda Axela in its home market o Japan but is known as the Mazda 3 in import markets such as the North American car markets.
The Mazda 3 was first introduced in 2003 as a 2004 model year car. The car is based on the C1 platform of Ford, a platform developed by Volvo. The Mazda 3 shares platforms with the Volvo S40 and the Ford Focus. The Mazda 3 features a chassis developed by Mazda and suspensions by Ford. The styling of the Mazda 3 is heavily based on the MX-Sportif concept car. Upon introduction in the North American car market, the Mazda 3 was available as either the i version or the s version. Due to the success of the vehicle, the Mazda 3 soon expanded the number of available trims for the car and now the Mazda 3. The Mazda 3 also features a high performance model variation which is called the Mazdaspeed 3. The Mazdaspeed 3 is based on the Mazda 3 but with an orientation towards performance. This model was first introduced during the Geneva Motor Show of 2006 and was sold in the North American market in 2007. The home market of Mazda, Japan also received the Mazdaspeed Axela and, in the European market, the Mazdaspeed 3 is marketed as the Mazda 3 MPS. Since its release, sales for the Mazda 3 has been quite impressive. The Mazda 3 is one of the most popular car in the international market and Mazda has had to expand its production facilities to accommodate the high demand of the vehicle all over the world.
The Mazda 3 is a compact car available in either 5 door hatchback body style or 4 door sedan body style. The car has a front engine front wheel drive layout and is based on the global platform Ford C1. There are several engines available for the Mazda 3. These are the MZR 1.4 litre I4 engine, the MZR 1.5 litre I4 engine, the MZR 1.6 I4 engine, the MZR 2.0 litre I4 engine, the MZR 2.3 litre I4 engine, the MZ-CD 1.6 litre I4 engine and the MZR-CD 2.0 litre I4 engine. There are also several transmissions available for the Mazda 3. Handling and steering for the car is also one of the most impressive in its class.
