Lincoln Mark VVI Headlights: Find Your Replacement Mark VVI Headlight Assembly

The Lincoln Mark VII is a personal luxury coupe made by Lincoln, the luxury vehicle division of the Ford Motor Company. The Lincoln Mark VII was a good sales performer for Lincoln and was among its top selling car models.

The Lincoln Mark VII was the successor of the Lincoln Mark VI. The car is also known as the Lincoln Continental Mark VII but the shorter variation of its name is the more popularly used. The Lincoln Mark VII was first introduced in 1984 and was in production up to 1992. The Lincoln Mark VII was known for its wide variety of luxury options. Like the Lincoln Mark VI which was its predecessor, the Lincoln Mark VII also received several redesigning and engineering changes which made the car more powerful and less fuel hungry. The Lincoln Mark VII was therefore a downsized version of the Lincoln Mark VI. One of the most striking changes of the Lincoln Mark VII was the change in its headlamps. With the Lincoln Mark VII, the headlamps were placed flush to the body of the car. this was done to make the aerodynamics of the car better. Throughout its production period, the Lincoln Mark VII received ever changing options and many of the features between model years were usually different from each other. The Lincoln Mark VII also featured a lot of luxury options, most of which were very high tech at the time of the Lincoln Mark VII's release. This led to the high sales of the Lincoln Mark VII. However, the later models of the Lincoln Mark VII received lower sales than its earlier models. The market demand for personal luxury vehicles had begun to die down which resulted in this sales decrease.

The Lincoln Mark VII was available with a 4.9 litre V8 engine with an output of 225 hp though performance engines were also available. The transmission available for the Lincoln Mark VII was a four speed automatic. The Lincoln Mark VII was the first American made vehicle which featured an electronic 4 channel anti lock braking system. It also featured the first composite headlights used on an American made vehicle. The Lincoln Mark VII also featured a four wheel air suspension system. This unique suspension system proved problematic for Lincoln Mark VII owners. Most Lincoln Mark VII dealer mechanics were unfamiliar with the maintenance and repair of this suspension system so that when the owners came in for repairs, they were often quoted prohibitive prices since the mechanic would recommend the replacement of all the major components of the air suspension system. This resulted to a negative market perception of the Lincoln Mark VII.

The Lincoln Mark VII was a good car in its time. The blend of performance and luxury features provides a highly attractive package. However, the reliability problems of the vehicle is something to be wary of, especially since the Lincoln Mark VII is now only available as a second hand model and repairs or replacements are going to be difficult to find.
