The Infiniti M30 was a 2 door luxury coupe made by Infiniti, the luxury car line of Nissan. The car was essentially a rebadged version of the Japanese Nissan Leopard car. The M30 was a moderate success during its production time. Infiniti released the Infiniti M30 as a stopgap car model, meant to hold the line until the Infiniti car company could produce a suitable car to replace it. The Infiniti was basically a rebadged Nissan Leopard, a popular Nissan car in Japan. The car was reconfigured to a left hand drive and had luxury features added. The Infiniti M30 was only available in the United Sates. The car had moderate success in the car markets. Many drivers found the Infiniti M30 to be a very enjoyable ride. The Infiniti M30 had adequate power to put on the road and maintained a smooth and solid ride. The car was also luxurious enough to please most tastes. One of the biggest selling points of the Infiniti M30 was also its attention to safety. The Infiniti M30 was considered as the one of the safest cars during the 1990s. The Infiniti M30 also has a modest following among car modders. The car is similar in many important areas to the more powerful sports cars of Nissan such as the 300ZX, 240SX and the earlier Nissan Skyline models. This makes it very easy for car modders to swap car parts from one to another making the Infiniti M30 a perfect platform for modders to play with. The Infiniti M30 borrowed its engine from the Nissan Maxima. Thus, the M30 had a 3 litre V6 overhead-cam engine with a power output of 162 hp. However, unlike the Maxima, the engine of the M30 was mounted longitudinally. The Infiniti M30 had a front engine, rear wheel drive layout. Transmission for the Infiniti M30 was only available as a 4 speed automatic. The Infiniti M30 also used the "Sonar Suspension II" of the Nissan Mazima. The Sonar Suspension II featured an ultrasonic sensor located underneath the radiator which read the surface of the road and adjusted the shock absorbers of the car to compensate for what it detects accordingly. The driver could also choose what time of dampening (soft, medium, firm) the car will use through a switch on the cockpit. Other standard equipment of the Infiniti M30 included ABS, airbags, power moonroof, power windows and power door locks, power seats for the driver, a limited-slip differential, automatic climate control and a 4 speaker audio system. In terms of performance, the Infiniti M30 could play with the bug kids quite easily. The automatic transmission, a common bane to quick acceleration, was surprisingly agile in the Infiniti M30, shifting when necessary and maintaining the powerful profile of the car's engine. The car could also stick to the pavement real well due to its capable suspension and handling system. The Infiniti M30 is a good car for a second hand buy. The main reason why this is so is that the car is quite a solid performer. Its popularity as a modder car also makes aftermarket parts of the M30 easy to find making maintenance less painful.
