One of the first ever released models from the Acura lineup is the Acura Legend. In the United States, the car was named as the Acura Legend although i other parts of the world, it was marketed under the name Honda Legend. The car was targeted towards the sporty-luxury car market. The car was offered as both a couple and a sedan and was one of the top sellers of the Acura car brand and was the sedan with the top specifications under the Acura brand up to 1996.
The Acura Legend has had a long run, first released in 1986 and finally discontinued in 1995. Many found the Acura Legend to be quite impressive. It had very luxurious looks, an engine that could make the car sprint to 60 in less than 8 seconds and was a solid, all around driver. The first generation of the Acura Legend was released in 1986. Early models were already introduced in Japan by 1995. It was one of the top of the range models introduced in the North American market and it featured several technical innovations which was the reason why the Acura Legend became quite a popular car. The first generation of the Acura Legend was released in 1986 to 1990. Such was the impact of the car in the car market that it was named among the "Ten Best" list of "Car and Driver" for the years 1988, 1989 and 1990. “Motor Trends” also named it as the “Import Car of The Year” in 1987. The second generation Acura Legends was released from 1991 to 1995. These models continued the trend of the first generation Acura Legends of introducing new technical innovations which predictably wowed the market and made the Acura Legend one of the most popular cars until it was discontinued in 1995.

The first of the Acura Legends were sedan models and had 2.5 litre C25A V6 engines capable of 151 hp. The coupe models soon followed and had 2.7 litre C27A engine which delivered 161 hp. These allowed the Acura Legends an impressive 0 to 60 sprinting time of under 8 seconds. The second generation generation Acura Legends were equipped with 3.2 litre C32A V6 engines. This time around, the car could do 0 to 60 in 6.7 seconds.
The Acura Legend is definitely a car that performs. The Acura Legend was able to mix both high performance and high luxury into one amazing car. It is definitely a winner and, for owners, these cars are sure keepers. Second hand Acura Legends are rare these days but they are quite worth their price should they ever come up.
