Chevrolet Kingswood Headlights: Find Your Replacement Kingswood Headlight Assembly

When it comes to the station wagons that are available in the market in the 1960s, only a few names stand out from the rest. One such name that made its mark in the market was the Chevy Kingswood, a station wagon that forms part of the General Motors line-up in the 196 1970s.

This station wagon from Chevy made its debut in the market in 1959 and production lasted until 1960. The nameplate once again appeared from 1969 up until 1972. This vehicle was considered as the equivalent of the Bel-Air passenger cars of that time and a contemporary of the Parkwood as well. But the Parkwood was a two-seater model, while this station wagon a three-seat model. When the vehicle was introduced in the market it made use of the rear wheel drive and the GM B platform. The first phase of its production saw the use of either the six cylinder engine or the V8 engine.

On the vehicle’s second run in the market, the passenger version of the Kingswood was likened to the Impala. The station wagon was considered as more upscale that the Townsman and the Brookwood, both of the Chevy line. But the station wagon lacked the more detailed design of the Kingswood Estate especially the exterior wood grain paneling. The second run of the vehicle in the market also saw the introduction of two model versions of the vehicle, which were the two- and the three seat models. And by 1969 and 1970 the power rear window was made as standard equipment for the three seat model and made an optional on the two seat model. It was in 1971 and 1972 where this option was made as a standard on the two models. The year 1971 also saw the introduction of the Turbo HydraMatic transmission and this paved the way for the elimination of the three-speed manual transmission. From that year onwards, the addition of the Turbo Hydra Matic was ordered to be placed on every Kingswood that was made available in the market.

The year 1973 saw the end of the era for the Kingswood name plate as Chevy ordered for the removal of the model in the market. This was the time where the popularity of Belair, the Impala and the Caprice once again surfaced. But the legacy of the Kingswood as a station wagon cannot be denied. It’s one of those station wagons that made a mark in the industry.
