K30 Pick-ups are very functional vehicles that can be used in the rural areas and by people who are involved in business. In fact these use of the pick-up is extremely popular making this type of vehicle one of the favorites of the buying public. But not all of these pick-ups are created the same. The K30 pick-up is just a variation of the Suburban line that was introduced by General Motors. And it is with the third generation of the C/K class that the K30 was introduced in the market alongside the other well-known models like the K1500 and the K2500 and the C10 and the C20. These vehicles may have different stage names but they all share some general construction and design since they all belong to the same family. The difference lies in the fact that the C vehicles are the two wheel drive vehicles and the K on the other hand refer to four wheel drive models of the GMC. The 10, 20 and the 1500 and the 2500 refer to one half ton models and quarter ton models. The name K30 or the C30 on the other hand is the one ton model designation. The K30 is much heavier if compared with the rest. The K30 just like any member for the third generation made use of the small-block engine, the 350 cubic inch V8 one. But the use of this small block engine didn’t last long since GM introduced new engines that can be used on its vehicles. The next engine that was introduced was the big block V8 engine, a 454 cubic inch wonder. By 1982, the diesel version was introduced and this was known as the 6.2L Detroit V8. The use of the diesel version was picked up and was soon used on many Suburbans that were exported to other countries particularly in European countries. The K30 can be customized as well that can suit the varying needs of the enthusiasts and the ordinary businessman.
