Toyota Highlander Headlights: Find Your Replacement Highlander Headlight Assembly
The Toyota Highlander is a mid size SUV produced by Japanese car maker Toyota. It once held the position of being the best selling SUV of Toyota before it was replaced by the Toyota RAV4. The Toyota Highlander was first introduced in the 2000 New York Auto Show. Later that year, the Toyota Highlander was released in Japan and, in the first half of 2001, the Toyota Highlander was released to the North American car markets. The car has been in continuous production until today. The Toyota Highlander is also known as the Toyota Kluger in other markets. The Toyota Highlander proved to be a capable seller for the SUV lineup of Toyota, complementing the Toyota 4Runner vehicle model. It is a more sedate SUV, playing counterpoint to the tough and rough roading ready Toyota 4Runner car model. The Toyota Highlander was also available as a hybrid vehicle, using the Hybrid Synergy Drive of Toyota. Although not really meant for off roading, the Toyota Highlander is still a powerful vehicle in its own right. The first generations of the Toyota Highlander feature 3.0 and 3.3 litre V6 engines capable of 220 hp and 230 hp respectively. There was also an I4 2.4 litre engine capable of 155 hp available. The second generation of the Toyota Highlander carried a 3.5 litre engine capable of 270 hp. The hybrid version of the Toyota Highlander featured the Hybrid Synergy Drive of Toyota coupled with a V6 3.3 litre engine. Transmissions available for Toyota Highlander were a 4 speed automatic, 5 speed automatic and a 5 speed manual transmission though the second generation of the Toyota Highlander is only available with a 5 speed automatic transmission. On the road, the Toyota Highlander performs much better with the V6 engine than with the I4. It can accelerate quite well and is quite competitive with other vehicles in its class in terms of acceleration performance. The Toyota Highlander has one of the smoothest rides available in the compact SUV vehicle class. Its not entirely car like, however as the Toyota Highlander does give some lean when cornering. The fuel economy of the Toyota Highlander is also on the low side though a considerably boost is gained with the Hybrid model. As a compact SUV, the Toyota Highlander is one of the better ones available. It has power to spare and is quite luxurious to boot. The hybrid version also makes it a very practical car with today's high fuel prices. Related Bookmarks
