Based on some of the tests that was conducted on the G2500 of 2007, the van can only submit 15 miles per gallon for city driving and another 20 miles per gallon for highway driving. The four- speed automatic was made as the standard transmission of the G2500 regular wheelbase version of the vehicle. What about the towing capacity of this kind of van from Chevy? There is nothing to worry as well since this van has a payload capacity of 3,262 pounds and that is more than enough to be highly reliable when it comes to towing applications. And to put it into proper perspective, the maximum load that this G2500 can tow can reach up to 10,000 pounds. There are optional engines for the 2007 version of the G2500 regular wheelbase; and these engines include the Vortec- 6 liter and this engine has the capability to produce 300 horsepower. There is another engine that was introduced for the van and that was the Duramax turbo-diesel, this is a 6.6L and a V8 engine and is tuned in order to carry 250 horsepower. The extended wheelbase version of the G2500 cargo van featured a different engine and this time the van made use of the V8 and the 4.8L engine that has the capability to achieve 285 horsepower. The four-speed automatic was made as a standard on the vehicle and the same with the regular wheelbase version, this van submitted poor fuel efficiency numbers. For city driving, the van mustered 15 miles per gallon and when it comes to highway driving, this vehicle submitted 20 miles per gallon.
