The Infiniti G20 was an entry level luxury car from the luxury car brand of Nissan, Infiniti. The car was introduced in 1991 and was in continuous production until 1996. It was released again in 1999 until 2000. The Infiniti G20 was not a very successful car and only achieved moderate sales in the car market.

The G20 was positioned as a the luxury car entrant of Infiniti in the United States. The car was a twin of the European Nissan Pimera sedan. However, the G20 featured a more luxurious trim as standard. The first generation of Infiniti G20s were released from 1991 up to 1996. These were poised to compete with the more established car models in the luxury car market. The Infiniti G20 turned out to be a market flop and the car was discontinued by 1996. In 1999, the Infiniti G20 line of cars were revived and was in production until 2002. The car was still experienced dismal sales and was again discontinued, this time to be replaced by the Infiniti G30. The Infiniti G20 was a decent car which was luxurious enough and had power enough to compete with the other luxury cars in the market. However, the Infinity G30 failed to stand out in an already saturated market. For startes, it had little power to boast of and was not a part of the top power performers of its class. In terms of luxury, the Infiniti G30 was also behind the main luxury cars as well. The pricing of the Infiniti G20 was also not competitive enough to undercut the sales position of other luxury cars in the market. Overall, the Infiniti G20 is an also-ran that failed in the luxury car market not once but twice.

The latest model of the Infiniti G20 is the 2002 model. This car featured a 2 litre 4 cylinder DOHC engine available with either a 4 speed automatic transmission or a 5 speed manual transmission. Safety features of the car included front side airbags, 4 wheel disc brakes with anti-lock features and an emergency release inside the trunk. The G20 lagged behind its competitors in terms of acceleration. 0 to 60 mph ratings were at 10 seconds. The Infiniti G20 did offer a very comfortable and solid ride, however and its handling was responsive. The car was actually quite agile and is perfect for twist and turn driving. Fuel economy was also quite impressive giving 22.8 mpg for in city driving and 26.9 mpg for highway driving. The Infiniti G20 suffered mostly minor mechanical problems and the car is known to be very reliable.

The Infiniti G20 cars are mostly available from second hand dealers these days. They are a good choice for a second hand car as they are known for their reliability and performance. The Infiniti G20 also has a level of luxury which buyers would find attractive. However, being as they are luxury cars, the price may be on the high side.
