The new Ford F-250 Super Duty ton truck was released in 1998, for the 199 model year, to replace the light-duty F-250 for a much more aggressive look. Unlike its predecessor, this truck is so much larger, tougher, faster, and so much stronger with smoother acceleration, firm suspension & car-like handling, which could pass for a monstrous sports car. The interior is spacious and rattle-free providing a relaxing trip, even during long hours of driving. Equipped with a much larger cab, passengers are assured of a more spacious interior while its menacing grille suggests power & reliability. Underhood, buyers have three engine choices from which to suit their motoring and towing needs: the 235 hp 5.4L V8 is the standard engine for this model but you could opt for a 235 hp 7.3L Power Stroke turbodiesel V8, or the monster 275 hp 6.8L OHC V10 which is the best choice for those who does not want to compromise power with performance. A five-speed manual was standard, with a four-speed automatic optional. The usual trim levels of base XL, respectably -equipped XLT and opulent Lariat were offered in standard, extended, and crew-cab body styles. By 2001, all trims were equipped with the antilock braking system. An optional reverse parking sensor was made available. Furthermore, they juiced up the Power Stroke engine for added power. And by the next year, the 6-speed manual transmission was offered as well as optional power-adjustable pedals for those who like to treat their truck like a sports car. Certain improvements were noticeable by 2008 with the introduction of the 5-speed automatic transmission was introduced. Also, front suspensions were upgraded, and towing and hauling capacities were increased. In 2003 a 6.0L Power Stroke engine replaced the 7.3L. The FX4 off-road package was released that same year as well as the King Ranch trim. This trim exudes a sense of individuality. It not only performs like the trusty Ford truck that it is but its design also shows what a real mans truck should look like: macho, dynamic and above all, dependable. Revamped with a massive grille, power telescoping and folding side mirrors, a tougher chassis, a new rear suspension design which greatly improved ride and handling dynamics, the Ford F-250 Super Duty has never been this tough. It was offered in either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. Moreover, a new 6.4 L Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 generating 350 hp and with a 650 LB-ft of torque replaced the 7.3L Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 engine. But of course, the 300 hp 5.4L V8 with 365 lb-ft and the362 hp 6.8L V10 with 457 lb-ft engines were retained. The truck is available in three body styles: regular cab, extended cab, and the crew cab. Also four trims were offered in the following hierarchy: base XL, midievel XLT, off-road-oriented exclusive for four-wheel drives, and the opulent Lariat. With its handsome new bulk and improved interior, handling, and functional facilities, the F-250 is as comfortable as a luxury car with the capabilities to perform heavy duty chores at a maximum. Moreover, the ceaseless efforts of Ford to better their quality products have brought this monster of a truck to a new height. . Headlights by State: ______________________
