The Lexus ES250 is a part of the Lexus ES series, a line of mid size luxury sedans made by the luxury division of Toyota, the Lexus. The Lexus ES250 is the first model manufactured by Lexus for the ES line of car models.
Toyota entered the luxury car market with using the Lexus car marque. The Lexus ES250 was the first model of the Lexus lineup. The ES250 set the right tone for the Lexus luxury lineup of cars. The car was based on the highly successful Toyota Camry. It was targeted as an entry level luxury car and, for most of the production period of the Lexus ES line up before the Lexus IS lineup was introduced, the Lexus ES was also targeted as the entry level luxury car of Lexus. The Lexus ES250 first debuted in the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit in 1989. It was presented during the launch of the Lexus division of Toyota. The Lexus ES250 was introduced along with the LS400 which was the flagship sedan of Lexus. Although the Lexus ES250 was based on the Toyota Camry, it shares more similarities with the Toyota Vista, a sedan model available in Japan only. However, the Toyota Vista was based on the Toyota Camry anyway. The Lexus ES250 was marketed as a the luxury sedan in the sports sedan market. It carried a higher price tag than comparable Toyota car models but carried more features as well. The Lexus ES250 received good market reception. However, it was far outstripped by the Lexus LS model. The Lexus ES250 was discontinued in 1991 which gave the car a production run of only two years, which is a very short production period for a Toyota car.
The Lexus ES250 shared most of its components with the Toyota Vista which was based on the Toyota Camry. The car was available 4 door sedan and had a front engine, front wheel drive layout. There was only one engine available for the Lexus ES250. This was a 2.5 litre V6 engine which was mated to either a 4 speed automatic or a 5 speed manual transmission. Standard equipment for the Lexus ES250 include airbags on the driver side and four wheel antilock disc brakes. The Lexus ES250 was remarkable similar to the Toyota Camry in its external design which unfortunately led buyers to assume that it was a similar car all throughout. The Lexus ES250 was actually a more luxurious vehicle, however. On the road, the V6 engine of the car gave it a lot of go on the asphalt. The ride of the Lexus ES250 was also luxury car smooth. It smothered most road bumps easily, transmitting little vibration to the vibrator, even with considerably road bumps. Handling for the Lexus ES250 was also impressive. It had great control and gripped the road quite well.
For a second hand car, the Lexus ES250 is a good choice. However, given its short production run, its going to be harder to find than other Lexus car models. Headlights by State: ______________________
