Acura EL Headlights: Find Your Replacement EL Headlight Assembly

Acura first released the Acura EL in 1996. The Acura El was an entry-level vehicle by Honda, hence the "EL" in the car model name. It was targeted to the compact entry-level luxury car market and was only available in the Canadian car market. The Acura EL was released as a replacement for the Acura Integra lineup of sedans. However, the Acura Integra still enjoyed continuous sales in the United States up to the year 2001. The Acura EL is the first ever Acura that was built in Canada and all Acura ELs were released from the Alliston, Ontario plant of Honda. It had a large success in the Canadian car market and was a top seller, following the success of the Honda Civic which was Canada's best selling car.

The Acura EL originated as an entry-level car for the Canadian market by Honda and is considered to be the first B-Segment luxury car in the North American car market. The Acura EL had two generations of releases, the first being released in the years 1996 to 2000 and the second in 2001 to 2005. The Acura EL first generation was based on the Honda Domani, a popular car model in the Japanese car market. The car was originally introduced in 1996, released as a 1997 model. The Acura El was a direct replacement for the Acura Integra, the 4 door sedan whose sales was soon discontinued in 1997, after the release of the Acura EL. Main production of the Acura EL is done in the Honda factory in Alliston Ontario. The Acura EL was a large success and enjoyed a large amount of sales during its release cycle which many consider to be a direct effect of the success of the Honday Civic in the Canadian market.

The first generation Acura EL had a 1.6 liter engine which could produce 127hp at 6600 rpm. The engine of the Acura EL directly benefitted from the VTEC timing control of Honda which added more kick to the engine at higher revolutions. In 2000, the Acura EL underwent a complete redesign and was now based on the highly popular Civic, specifically the seventh generation of this popular Honda model. The engine of the Acura EL was also upgraded and was now a 1.7 liter SOHC I4 engine that delivered 127hp. These continued on for the next iterations of the Acura EL up to the 2005 model. The Acura EL models are known to be one of the sturdiest Acura models around. While there have been instances of minor mechanical and electrical problems, these are usually isolated cases and there have been few reports of major Acura EL problems.

All in all, the Acura EL is a solid performer of a car. For owners of these cars, the Acura EL is worth keeping for a while longer. While resale values for the Acura EL are sure to decline over the years, many will still find them valuable due to the quality of the cars.
