Dodge Diplomat Headlights: Find Your Replacement Diplomat Headlight Assembly

The Dodge Diplomat lived up to its name, as this vehicle from Dodge was one of the vehicle models that were used by the police force on the road. The choice of the Diplomat as the vehicles for the law enforcement forces is a story in itself. During the 1980s due to the lack of promotion for the vehicle, the Diplomat’s share of the market has shrunk. This was also the time when the vehicle-buying public preferred the much newer models of that time. But even though the share of the Diplomat has dwindled, a new niche market was created by Diplomat along the way that’s for law enforcement use.

The Dodge Diplomat was Dodge’s entry in the mid-size category and the vehicle was in production that started on 1977 and lasted until 1989. The Diplomat shares the same design and construction with the Chrysler LeBaron. The vehicle was also exported in other countries particularly in Mexico where the vehicle was in the market for two years. The name Diplomat wasn’t used the first time in 1977, rather this nameplate was used by Dodge to label the two-door hard top body vehicles of Dodge. The original nameplate was used from 1950 until 1954. The name plate was also used for the export version DeSoto. And the year 1977 was the second time that the name plate was used.

The second coming of the Diplomat nameplate made use of the M-body that was used on the Dodge Aspen. The Dodge Diplomat that was introduced in 1977 made use of th3.7L version of the six cylinder engine. When the Diplomat made use of the 318 CID or the 5.2L V8 engine together with the Grand Fury of the Plymouth, the vehicle was then made as the choice vehicle of US police enforcement agencies. The Diplomat also assumed the mantle of being the largest sedan in the Dodge family with the end of the Dodge St Regis. The Diplomat assumed that role even though the vehicle is just a mid-size vehicle. The Diplomat continued to hold the title until the introduction of the Monaco.

The vehicle was produced continually until the introduction of the Dodge Monaco. And for the rest of it production life has been the choice of vehicles for the law enforcement agencies and most cab owners. And from then on the Dodge Diplomat vehicles have been an important part of the law agencies and made the jobs of law enforcers a lot easier.
