Chevrolet C30 Pickup Headlights: Find Your Replacement C30 Pickup Headlight Assembly

The C30 pick-up is just one of the many able-bodied trucks that were introduced by Chevy as part of the C/K line-up. The nomenclature that was adopted by Chevrolet and General Motors starting 1960 was the reason why the truck buying public has known the C-30 pick-up.

Prior to 1960 and the introduction of the first generation of the C/K line of General Motors and Chevy, the labels that are used on these trucks are the more popular 3100, the 3200 and the 3600. These names are used to refer to the weight of the trucks. For example the 3100 would refer to half ton truck and so on. After 1960, these names were replaced by 10, 20 and 30. The C30 that was introduced by Chevrolet for the pick-up truck-buying public is the one ton version of the truck. The C on the name of the truck also indicated the fact that the pick-up truck is a two wheel drive version.

Aside from the fact that a new naming system was adopted by General Motors, another first was also used on the C30 and its contemporaries. That year was the time when the pick-up truck was given the truck look courtesy of the new body style. This body style incorporated the drop-center ladder frame. This allowed for the C30 truck to sit lower and incorporated an independent front suspension. This use of new body style allowed the pick-up truck to look like a truck. The trim level that was used for the C30 was the Base and the Custom trim. Power for the early C30 pick-up may come from either of the two engines. The first engine used was the base and the standard 236 cubic inch and the inline-6 that submitted 150 horsepower. The second engine was the 283 cubic inch V8 one that can be relied upon for 160 horsepower. As the production of the C30 progressed, a number of modifications have been made. For example the year 1963 saw the introduction of the coil spring suspension. This type of suspension replaced the use of the torsion bar. This was also the time when the egg crate grille design was made available. Another engine was made available and this was can submit as much a 165 horsepower.

The overall exterior looks of the didn’t change much in its lifetime though a number of options were made available making the Chevy C30 more powerful on and off the road, and at the same time making the interior of the pick-up truck a bit comfortable and cozy for the driver and the passengers. One important year for the C30 was in 1987 and this was the introduction of the throttle body fuel injection. This was adopted on the V6 and the V8 engines. The shift made the vehicle more powerful and made more desirable for the guys who like great towing power for their trucks. This year was the time when the C30 name was dropped in favor of the K and V names.
