Buick is a marquee of General Motors Corporation selling various types of luxury automobiles. It services the countries of Israel, Canada, China, Taiwan, and the United States. Buick started as an independent car manufacturing company known as Buick Motor Company in May 19, 1903 by David Dunbar Buick in Detroit, Michigan. Having struggled for the year, Mr. Buick had no choice but to sell the company to Mr. James Whiting who moved its headquarters to Flint, Michigan. The new owner then hired William C. Durant as manager of the newly acquired company. Sooner than anybody would have expected, Mr. Durants talent helped the rise of Buick into one of the top car sellers and manufacturers in the US. Now backed with a great amount of profits from the company, he then purchased some more acquisitions, turning the once-struggling company into a corporation known as General Motors. With Mr. Durant spearheading the new corporation, he then established enough camaraderie among the almost competing brands involve in said incorporation while makings sure that Buick retains its niche as one of their high-end cars. In fact, in 1911, GM introduced the first closed-body car. In 1929, in an effort to bridge the gap between sister marquees of Buick and Oldsmobile, he established the Marquette brand but had to close it down a year after. As of current, Buick remains to be a prestigious brand in the GMC conglomerate just behind Cadillac.One of the famous Buick car models is the Roadmaster a full-sized rear-wheel drive sedan.
