Chevrolet Brookwood Headlights: Find Your Replacement Brookwood Headlight Assembly

The Chevrolet Brookwood was positioned by Chevrolet as its mid-priced station wagon. The Brookwood was trimmed together with the Biscayne since these two models of Chevy was introduced in the market almost at the same time.

This station wagon was made available in the market from 1958 until 1972. The first major significant changes that were made on the Brookwood happened in 1958 until 1961 and the second wave of changes on the station wagon was made in 1969 and lasted until 1972. In between these years, a number of changes in terms of the styling, interior and exterior appointments and engine were made on the station wagon. While the 1971 model year was on the spotlight, all full-sized station wagon including Brookwoods, have received the former optional TurboHydraMatic transmission as standard equipment. Even though there are the series economy roots, all previous Brookwoods had been virtually built and sold with the automatic transmission. Brookwoods received Chevrolet's front fascia restyle in 1972, having been ordered with any number of options from full wheel covers to a vinyl top. From that same year, Chevrolet listed a four-door sedan and the Brookwood in Biscayne line. For 1973, Chevrolet Biscayne production was ended bearing the Biscayne and Brookwood names. Biscayne sedan & wagon was sold in Canada until the 1975 model year.

The station wagon that was first offered in 1958 was a four-door station wagon and this wagon was available in six and in nine passenger models. The year 1959 saw a significant development for Brookwood model. This was the time when the manufacturer disposed the Delray series thus making the Biscayne as the least expensive model in the line-up. The Chevy Brookwood was tied to the Biscayne and the Brookwood thus became the least expensive station wagon of Chevrolet. This was the time as well when the Brookwood was available in two body styles but only available in six- passenger configuration. The year 1961 saw the dropping of the two-door body style but the nine-passenger configuration was adopted again. The latter part of the 1960s saw the re-positioning of the Brookwood as the last expensive model and the Brookwood was followed by the Townsman, the Kingswood and the Kingswood Estate models. The Brookwoods of this time came in either the six cylinder of the V8 engines. This station wagon from Chevy met a modification by 1971 and this time, the clamshell rear gate assembly and the power window mechanism was used on the station wagon. This type of rear gate assembly needs the rear window to be raised to the roof of the vehicle and the gate of the vehicle will simply slid down the floor.

Other modifications are made available on the Brookwood and some options were made available to the buyer as well. But these modifications and upgrades aren’t the one that help make the Brookwood click with the vehicle-buying public. A great part that influenced their motivation was the price range of the Brookwood. The Brookwood for many parts of its life was considered as the least expensive in the line-up of Chevy. And since the wagon may come in nine-passenger configuration helped made the Brookwood a perfect choice for large families.
