Chevrolet Blazer Headlights: Find Your Replacement Blazer Headlight Assembly
The Blazer and the much similar GMC S-15 Jimmy are mid-size vehicles that were offered by General Motors. The Blazer is a 4WD T-10 model and the S-15 on the other hand is the 4WD T-15 model. The K5 Blazer of Chevrolet was also similar to the Blazer but the K5 version was much larger. The production of the Blazer and the GMC S-15 Jimmy started alongside with the production of the much larger K5 Blazer. In North America, 4-door vehicles, with both 2 and 4 door models were produced at Linden, which was the main assembly plant after the switch some time after 1985 from Pontiac, Michigan, now a full-size truck plant. The production of these vehicles started in 1993 and lasted until 2005. The two main market of the Blazer was in the US and in Canada. After 2004, the only Blazer that was sold in the US was the two-door Blazer models and the rest are geared towards the fleet market. For the Canadian market the Jimmy and the Blazer were sold as a four door model and this model was made available in the market until 2004. The Chevy Blazer was available in two generations. The first generation ran from 1983 until 1994 and the second generation was in production for ten years and ended in 2005. The vehicles manufactured during its first generation are also called as the GMC S-15 Jimmy and the GMC Jimmy. The first generation made use of the GM GMT330 platform. The kind of styling that was used on these vehicles were based on the first generation K5 Blazer and the Jimmy. Power was sourced from the General Motors’ 2L OHV 4-cylinder engine and has the capacity to produce a lowly 83 horsepower. An option in the form of the 2.8L V6 was made available. Emission laws in place during that time called for the replacement of the 2L engine and in its place, the 1.9L I4 gasoline engine produced by Isuzu was made as the base engine. The all-new real Blazer was produced in the second generation. The S-10 was dropped, and the name Blazer remained. Engine that were used started with the 4.3 liter LB4 and the TBI engine, the 4.3 liter L35 V6 engine , the 4.3L Vortec V6 4300 CSFI and the 4.3 liter Vortec 4300 which was also a V6 and a CFSI engine. The year 1999 saw the introduction of the limited edition Trailblazer which was available in the LS and the LT trims. This version of the Blazer featured top of the line accents, like the alloy rims that are gold accented and a number of other interior modifications. An Xtreme version of the Blazer was also made available. These two versions carried the performance that is known to the original version. The Blazer delivers performance that is truck-worthy, and this should be the motivation for those who seek brawn on and off the road. This was verified by Blazer when it won the Motor Trend mag’s Truck of the Year award for 1995. Related Bookmarks
