American-based Dodge hit the global automobile market with its top-of-the-line models that brought a lot of relief to car users and owners like no other. It is a subsidiary of Chrysler and exported cars, sports utility vehicles (SUV) and pickup trucks in the United States, Mexico, Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, and more than 60 countries more around the world. Among the most prominent in the mid-size division in its early years is the Dodge 600 that set its mark in the industry in 1983 and ceased production to give way for more modern innovations in 1988.
The Dodge 600 basically became available in 3 types: the 2-door convertible, the 2-door coupe, and the 4-door sedan. It debuted though, in four-door sedan with two trims: the base and Euro/Sedan (ES). It was designed well in its FF layout and roomy E-body for the sedan and K-body for the convertible and coupe editions. The model offered so many choices in terms of engine: the 2.2 L K14, the 2.2 L Turbo I14, the 2.5 L K14, and 2.6 L Mitsubishi G54B I14. It sported the same numerous transmission types like 5-speed A520 manual, 5-speed A525 manual, 3-speed A413 automatic, and 3-speed A470 automatic.
Sales became easy and even doubled in as early as in its second year in the industry because of the addition of coupe and convertible to the basic sedan of Dodge 600. These additions were equipped with digital dashboards and Electronic Voice Alert just like the any other prevailing midrange and upscale derivatives of K cars. From 2.2 L engine, enhancements like turbo charge additions that increase power output of up to 142 hp. Because the coupe and convertible trims were picking up much fame, the 4-door sedan base and ES trims were dropped and replaced with the SE trim.
Most of the trims of Dodge 600 were slightly improved in their interior and exterior features, but none was remodeled heavily because it is already sought after in performance and design. Sales could have taken the 600 if the automobile industry in general did not modernize too much. To ensure that they can cope up, the need to cease the production of this viable model and trims arise but did not stop its consumer to keep it invading the streets and highways around the world. To this day, Dodge 600 and all its line-up are still visible in the auto scene; a simple indication that it served its worth through out the ages.Headlights by State: ______________________
