Coming from the Toyota pickup truck, the Toyota 4Runner enjoys a number of truck like features such as powerful engines and strong and reliable off-road capabilities. The latest Toyota 4Runner is the 2008 model. It is available in three trims, the SR5, the Sport Edition and the Limited. The engines available are a V6 4 litre engine and a V8 4.7 litre engine. Only a single transmission is available which is a five speed automatic transmission. The V6 version of the Toyota 4Runner has a 4 wheel drive option while the V8 version has an all wheel drive option. The Toyota 4Runner is very powerful whether it is using the V6 or the V8 engine. While the transmission is only available as an automatic, it performs quite well and always seems to use the right gear. Fuel economy is on the low side and the the suspension can be lively. Handling is quite responsive but the tall and heavy body of the Toyota 4Runner gives a lot of lean.
